Coast Road

There are many quaint,  former fishing villages, nestled in the rugged Heritage  Coastline of North Yorkshire. The main one being Whitby. Others include Staithes, Runswick Bay, Robin Hoods Bay, Sandsend and Saltburn. By the end of the 18th Century Whitby had developed into a centre for whaling and shipbuilding. With Whitby's connection to the explorer Captain James Cook, the Abbey ruins ( Dracula ) famous jet jewellery, scenic harbour, beach and quaint narrow streets with a variety of unique shops it draws visitors from around the world.
